Prevalence and Resistance Pattern of Uropathogens in Pregnant Women- A Cross-Sectional Study

Introduction: Urinary Tract Infection (UTI) is the most common medical problems associated with pregnancy occurring in about 5-10% of pregnant women. It attributed by various micro- organisms. As uropathogens usually Multidrug resistance so, timely identification these and their pattern detection essential. If UTI not treated promptly, it can lead to complications ultimately affect health infant or mother. Aim: To estimate frequency different organisms women as well antibiotic resistant among them. Materials Methods: Present study was conducted a tertiary care hospital rural district Chhattisgarh. During period from August 2021 October 2021, 130 urine samples were collected processed per standard protocol. With significant growth on culture ≥105 Colony Forming Unit (CFU)/mL single morphotype bacteria clean catch midstream sample diagnosis established. The isolated identified up species level biochemical tests. Results: In this study, found n=69.2% frequently organism E. coli (53.3%), followed Klebsiella spp.(18.9%) Pseudomonas spp. (3.3%). Highest prevalence rate (85.7%) observed age group 21 25 years; (77.8%) 2nd trimester. pathogens mostly showed multiple drug two more antibacterial agents tested.
